ABOUT US
Bangor Abbey Preschool was first established in 1978, and has been serving the local community in Bangor Co. Down continually since then. Bringing quality preschool education to over 2000 children over the years.
It has seen many dedicated staff throughout the years that have built the preschool to the high standard it maintains today. The preschool originally begin within the building of the Bangor Abbey Parish where it remained until many years later when renovations were being carried out in the church and the preschool had to find temporary accommodation. The local school, Clandeboye Primary School had some empty classrooms and invited the preschool to become tenants in the school building. The leaders at the time enjoyed the school environment and agreed to stay.
Our permanent home is now in Clandeboye Primary School where we love being part of the fantastic school community. The school have supported us enormously over the years in many ways but one special way has been allowing us to take over a 1 acre piece of derelict land belonging to the school and turn it into our award winning outdoor space and forest school area!

We occupy 3 first floor classrooms and our own designated corridor. This gives us great space to call our own. There are 3 large bright preschool rooms, 2 preschool rooms and 1 prepre room. Having a completely separate prepre classroom is amazing. This gives our little prepre children a proper age and stage appropriate environment with curriculum and routines specific to prepre. Our 2 preschool classrooms offer a range of play areas and activities to develop childrens natural curiosity.
We are a double award winning preschool and a registered forest school in training as well a muddy puddle advocate. We are very proud of our glowing inspection reports from both the Department of Education and The South Eastern Early Years Team.
At Bangor Abbey Preschool we continue to strive to be highly trained and dedicated early years educators every day.
